As part of the project relating to the construction of the Roveredo ring road, in addition to the new main axis of the N13 highway, the “Italian road”, that previously ran along the centre of Roveredo, was moved along the Moesa river. The new cantonal artery, planned to become the main axis for the Bellinzona-San Bernardino connection during the closure of the N13 due to extraordinary events (accidents, maintenance), in 2030 will be characterized by a traffic volume of 7,000 – 8,500 vehicles/day. The route, 880 m long and consisting of a single carriageway with two lanes, crosses the connected road network (new junction N13, local road network, access to the village) through three large roundabouts with a diameter of 30 m.
