The project concerns the enhancement of public spaces in the Soldini district in Chiasso, where 2’300 people live and where there are different artisanal and industrial productive activities. Aims of the project are: reorganisation of the road system proposing responsive materials and items of furniture; realisation of connection spaces in private areas and/or with public use; improvement of slow mobility, with creation and adjustment of specific paths, security improvement; access limitation to the existing private properties and only to residents. Different works have been achieved, such as improvement of public roads, creation and delimitation of the slow traffic area, requalification of the public areas in the district, including adaptation of all underground infrastructures, urban furniture and lighting system.
